Car troubles in Budapest
Fixing a car in Budapest? Perhaps not such a good idea. My car is getting old and lately the clutch began to slide. Before I end up not being able to drive uphill at all, I decided to have it fixed. So I found this nice looking mechanic nearby and decided to trust him - he quoted me a price of HUF 8,000 for replacing my clutch. At the back of my mind I knew that mechinics would always say that they found something else wrong with the car and offer you to fix that. So it came as no surprise that the mechanic called that my brakes needed to be replaced. I just had them replaced about a year ago but now I wanted to get my car back without some pissed off mechanic damaging it so I agreed to have them replaced. Now the total price so far is HUF 140,000 and I still not have my car yet.
So I am eager to see what will happen. Perhaps I need to post the name and address of the mechanic so no one ever will go there again -- but I am not going to do anything like that before I get my car back.
