Sziget is over

Now that the Sziget festival is over, the island is empty. Nothing left but garbage. In fact, there is so much garbage that it will take months to haul it all away and restore the island (sziget) to its original shape. And then it will be time to prepare for next year's Sziget.

So why is it that people who have a good time inevitably end up destroying something? What is the motivation behind breaking tree branches when you get high?

According to the Sziget organizers, the worst "guests" were the French and the Dutch. I have not been lately to France but I just visited Holland where it is Rembrandt year and the streets looked tidy. So what happens at the Sziget?

There's a lot of interesting related stats on Híradó:

*78 cars damaged (44 less than last year)
*52 cars stolen (45 last year)
*Theft was up on last year, worth about 21 million forints in total.
*23 drug related offences
*33 breaches of the peace
*Damage was only put at 623,000 forints.

Sounds like it was a fun festival!
