Best Japanese restaurant
I remember that friends in the past have told me about the Japanese restaurant Daikichi, as being the only Japanese place where they eat in Budapest. One of these friends was Japanese so it seemed like a good bet. But for some reason I never went there, until now.
Well, it was a genuine surprise, as the food was way beyond our expectations. Home-style Japanese cuisine at its best. Even the tofu tasted different from other places. And the rice, which is often a sure indication of the quality of the place, was perfect.
So you should definitely try this restaurant. There is for some reason a pre-occupation with "mangalica", a type of Hungarian pork but that simply seems to reflect the owner's own taste. And there is no reason to eat only pork. My advice is to try the many small side dishes, as these are the ones that are the hardest to get in other restaurants.
